It’s Personal

So, it’s a new year! Can you believe it? A new year! In that these years keep rolling by, God continues to prove His steady presence in my life, and this year, for me, has to be one where I am even more aware of Him and one in which I continuously acknowledge Him. I want God to see my appreciation and love for Him in my daily lifestyle of worship. I want to continue to wake up in the morning, acknowledging that He’s there. I want to continue, even more, when I’m able to get alone, quietly, and say “Lord, what do You want me to do”, “Lord, just be pleased”, “God, I need you”, or even go into my prayer language, knowing that He understands what I’m saying when I can’t find words in the natural. My spirit wants to commune, be in tune and agree with Him. I want to be on the same page, operating by His methods and standards. This is my desire! I have to hear Him. I gotta be in sync with what He’s doing and how He’s moving. I gotta know when He’s saying “do or don’t”, “say this or be quiet”, “move or be still”. I love that I can be personal with Him, and that He knows and understands me, emotionally. He wants to share and convey things, daily, that’s only going to help me navigate through this life, much better than I can alone.

So yes, this year, for me, must include being even more personal with God in such a manner that my walk, with Him, will demonstrate one that is fully functioning and thriving on His every word. My being should exude Jesus! My thoughts should meditate on things that bring life and my conversation should utter words that cause this life to be one that is prosperous, in every way. These days must consist of going further into the new year with The One Who wants to personally walk with me and show me more of Who He is and who I am.

Alright God, You reign as Lord over my life. Lead me, guide me. Let’s continue to do life in a way which I purpose to keep personal with You.

Blessings & Happy New Year

Don’t force it…lean back

God uniquely showed me something the other day. He showed me how my life is a living testimony and will speak and show evidence of his power, love and glory. My life, lived out, expressed and demonstrated, before men, will draw them towards the saving grace of God. The thing is, I have to allow God to show forth freely and deal with the hearts of men, how He wants to do it. I just have to be willing to let God direct me and be ready to flow with Him. He knows exactly how to speak through me so that my life will be a mirror that reflects His image.

I realized how, even though we get so excited about moving forward in the things of God and bringing others into the knowledge of Him, we must remember to keep seeking God for His lead and His way of approaching various situations. Every situation or person is not the same, and we have to be sensitive, especially when it comes to dealing with winning souls for Christ. Just because we may have become familiar and comfortable in a particular way of operating, doesn’t mean that particular approach is going to work the same way with the next person, and we must take extra precaution that we aren’t forcing a thing. God is so loving that He doesn’t force anything on us. He lays out the one and only consistent saving grace message before us, but His method or way of delivering it may be different and unique, to His making. He knows each individual personality so well and knows exactly what each person is feeling, much better than the individual himself, and therefore knows how to specifically present The Message to where the person will be receptive to what’s being said and will understand the heart behind it.

So, God just dropped this phrase in my spirit the other day, while engaging in an opportunity to let His glory show, through my testimony of living day to day life, which said simply, “Don’t force it…lean back”. 🙂 In other words, don’t go about it hard hitting to where you run people off, but just speak naturally, from the heart, and My words and presence will come alive and speak LIFE into the individual and meet them right where they are, in the particular stage or season of their life. I kept thinking, “God, I see You”! 🙂 I sensed His presence and how His approach was very different and much better to the situation at hand. Let me tell you, can’t nobody do it better than God!! Lol! He is just AMAZING, and you’ll find He will work wonders when you allow Him to move by His Spirit. He’s just God like that!  🙂

I guess I will take this opportunity to reinforce the nice little hunch God gave to me, when it comes to moving out in acquiring souls or reaching towards the things of God, and please allow me do it with this scripture that says:

“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God” (Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭AMP‬‬).

Or, again, in the words of the God hunch given to me…”Don’t force it…lean back”. 🙂

Got Purpose?

Do you know that you have something very meaningful to carry out in this earth?  It’s something that you and you alone can do.  You are here by divine assignment.  God has instilled unique gifts and abilities on the inside of you, and every day you should purpose to go about expressing and living out what He has put on the inside.  Someone needs what you have.  You’re not fully living, until you’re able to walk out what you have been put on this earth to do.  Even if you’re not quite sure and aware of what it is in which you are to function, it doesn’t mean that purpose doesn’t reside on the inside of you.  It’s just lying dormant, waiting to be awakened.  Yes, my friend, you have much to give and offer to the world around you.

Every single day is a day of discovery and unveiling.  When we’re going about life and interacting with people and things, we must ask God to make our purpose clear and continue to unfold what and how He desires for us to walk in it.  We have to keep first things first, and the most important of those firsts is found in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you”.  All this is saying, is to first remember to pray and seek out God’s way of doing or handling things.  We never want to get our priorities mixed up, because He is the main one orchestrating all of this.  Notice that once we first seek Him and how He wants us to go about living our lives, then, everything else is added or becomes clearer into full manifestation.  In seeking Him, God will reveal, even more, the different gifts He has bestowed upon us and show us how He wants us to use them in helping others.  Yes, our gifts are not for us, but for others, and you’re never more full of life and purpose than when you’re using what you have to serve those, in your sphere of the world.

Once we know what we are called to do on this earth, and we get to the point where we’re fully operating in it, on a daily basis, we begin to feel that life has meaning.  We now have something to live for.  Then, when we are actively and effectively using our gifts, scripture tells us that, “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men” (Proverbs 18:16).  However, I like the Message version which says, “A gift gets attention; it buys the attention of eminent people”.  See, when you recognize the importance of discovering your gifts, and begin using them to fulfill your purpose consistently and with passion, God will allow it where prominent individuals are strategically placed near you and they will notice that you have something significant in which to contribute. It really is amazing how God works.  He is responsible for uniquely designing you, instilling gifts and callings that are accompanied by your tailor made personality, and ultimately positioning you in the right place, before the right people,  so you can display and fulfill your purpose in a manner that will bless others and be pleasing to Him.

I want to encourage you today in knowing that you have been gifted to give.  God has put so much treasure within you, and your job is to ask Him to help in discovering all that lies within you and how you can get about flowing in those gifts.  These gifts will, in turn, help encourage, build and strengthen the lives of others. It’s in you! Go ahead and tap into it.  People are waiting!

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning”(James 1:17 KJV).

What’s in your heart?

My family and I went to a Mexican restaurant the other day, and an interesting thing happened, which grabbed my attention.  We had 2 servers, the main waitress, and then the guy that brought out the chips and salsa.  Well, funny thing is, our waitress was not very thorough in her service, or she half- heartedly did her job, whereas the other server seemed like he was doing more of her job, regardless of whether or not it was in his job description.

In the first instance, upon arrival, my husband noticed that our table had not been fully cleaned, so, guess who arrived, just in time…the server with the chips.  For now, we’ll refer to him as Mike.  So my husband, even though bothered, politely asked Mike if he would mind having someone take care of the issue.  So, before we knew it, Mike was back with a towel, cleaning, and mind you, our waitress, whom we’ll call Misty, had previously told us she would be back to clean the table, but there was no follow through.  Mike quietly, and without a fuss, made sure the table was in proper position for eating.  I expressed a verbal “thank you” to Mike for handling that for us.

In the second instance, Misty, noticed we had three little boys with us, and brought three kid menus to the table, therefore, the kids could color and would be fully occupied.  However, when we began to open the menus for the boys, we noticed there were pages to color, but no crayons.  So again, who happened to pass by just in time…good ole Mike! 🙂 So this time, I nicely asked Mike, “Do you mind bringing us some crayons please”?  He quietly agreed, left to take someone else their chips, and then came back by our table and my husband heard him say, “I’ll get your server for you”.  So at this point, I’m expecting Misty to return with crayons at any moment, but each time she came, we got Misty, but no crayons. 😦  I asked my husband wasn’t Mike supposed to get the crayons, but my husband informed me, “He said he would get our server”.  So the next time Misty came to the table, I asked her, “Do you have any crayons for the kids”? She replied, “If the lady didn’t give you any when you came in, then there probably weren’t any left”.  I clearly noticed there was no initiative on her part to check on her own, or make sure there weren’t any more crayons, and I have to admit I was slightly annoyed by that response.  So, at this point, the boys are getting a little restless, then as soon as I look up, who was arriving, in the nick of time, with three packages of crayons in their hands….you guessed it…good ole Mike! 🙂  This time, Mike received hearty appreciation and thanks because he came just before meltdowns happened, and he took it upon himself to go the extra mile! Right when we thought he had either forgotten or we were expecting Misty, we were thankfully surprised by Mike’s return.

Don’t we all appreciate when we feel a waiter has shown great service and has gone further than they had to, especially when something may not have even been in their particular job description?  Now, why did Mike follow through with his actions or even bother going the extra mile to take care of what we, the customers, needed?  I would say, Mike had a servant’s heart and attitude.  Whereas Misty, held the main position of being our server, her heart was not into it, and we got responses that were given in assumption and there was no “extra” anything on her part. What was in Mike’s heart, showed in his actions, and who do you think was viewed as the better server in our eyes…you already know…good ole Mike! 🙂  What did Jesus say?  “But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant” (Matthew 23:11 KJV).  This was definitely the truth in this case.  Mike was the greatest among the two, and as far as we know it, will be regarded and remembered for his diligence in serving.

May I ask, “what’s in your heart”? We all need to work on having a servant’s heart, just as Jesus served those in whom He came in contact with, and we all know that Jesus was most definitely The Greater One! God looks at the heart and He, in return, honors those who display that attitude of faithfulness and diligence.  No one can reward us better than God, and we should always remember that, even if we don’t get the proper recognition or appreciation, we should take it to God in prayer, for He is always watching.  Matthew 6:6 puts it like this, “But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open” (Matthew 6:6 AMP). That right there is very promising, and it lets us know that God is smiling on our humble attitude and acts of service, and He will do His part in taking care of His children.  Oh, and if that isn’t enough, Romans 8:17 further explains, “And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him]; only we must share His suffering if we are to share His glory” (AMP).  Whew! That is reward enough, right? 🙂

Let’s remember today that when we are in position to be of service, don’t go about it with an attitude that is very, well how shall we put it…. “misty” :), but instead let’s show the heart that Mike displayed, and most of all, that Jesus instructs us to have.  When we take care of God’s business, He, for sure, will take care of ours!  Be encouraged my friends!

In Step with Him

When you are in relationship with someone, you become very familiar with every aspect of that person.  You know their personality and their character, so well, that if someone told you something about that person you’re in relationship with, and it seemed to be contrary to the way that individual would act, you’d maybe say something like, “That doesn’t seem like Bob”.  If someone told you that your child said something, and you knew it didn’t sound like him or her, you might firmly and confidently protest, “Oh no, not my child”!  A mother or father may find themselves in a crowd of rowdy and rambunctious little children, but if their child all of a sudden cried out, “Mommyyyy…Daddyyyyy”, they would immediately recognize their child’s voice and respond to the need.

You know, something I’ve discovered over the years is that it is no different with God.  Being in a close, tight knit relationship with Him, I have come to understand and sense His promptings, and when He is speaking.  I’ve heard and immersed myself, consistently in His word, to know what sounds like Him and what doesn’t.  I understand His way of delivery and how He operates with me when He wants to deposit or reveal the hidden things.  My relationship with Him is so real and intimate, to where I’m able to take heed to instruction coming directly from Him. Friends, this is where God wants us to be with Him.  He wants us to know His voice and His ways so well, that our spirit should bear witness or agree with what’s being said and the manner in which it comes across, or to be able to test spirits behind a thing and know, like 1 John 4:1 says,  “whether they are of God”.  He wants to share things with us that will lead into the paths of righteousness.  He wants us to get to the point where we know we’re receiving divine direction from Him, and also to where we can trust Him with His instruction.  It’s all in getting to know Him and building that relationship to where you become sound, secure and assured in Him.  Your entire existence should be centered on your being in constant fellowship with your Creator.

Let’s take comfort in these words from Psalms 32:8 AMP, “I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you”.  That, alone, is very reassuring, especially when we’re doing our part in seeking Him daily for guidance.  He has said that He will counsel, give advice or His opinion as to what we should do concerning our very lives.  He is watching our every move, and will check us as to whether we’re right or wrong, in making sure we are in step with His divine purpose and walking into the destiny He so desires for us.  He knows just what, when, where and how to keep us along the track of His ultimate leading.  It’s not always for us to figure out or to assume, but for us only to trust He has us exactly where He wants us, to get what only He can get to us, however He wants to get it to us.  Can we rest today, knowing that God’s got everything all under control?  When we can honestly say we’re searching and seeking Him for answers, we can take our hands off of it, knowing that it’s the Lord’s doing, and with His eyes upon us, guiding our every move, we can boldly declare… “Where He leads me, I will follow”.

Don’t Give Up!

Yes, hell is breaking loose all over this world, and every kind of attack may be trying to wreak havoc all in and around your personal life, but please allow me to emphatically say this to you, that now is not the time to give up! Please hear my heart, but every time I see the horror on the news, every time I feel my fleshly nature or feelings trying to takeover and rule, I hear the Holy Spirit urging and nudging me…”Pray, quiet your spirit and draw nearer to me”. Why is it important that we do this? Because it’s URGENT that we stay close to God in times like these. It’s important that we hear and know what is the role He wants us to play in these last days. The enemy wants to distract us, with petty things, but we must be aware enough to notice when we’re being moved by things that don’t matter, especially when compared to the condition of our soul.

I keep hearing the words…”DON’T GIVE UP, DON’T GIVE UP”! Friends it’s time to hold fast to what we know the Truth to be, and that is Jesus is on His way, and it could be any day now. Get in Jesus, and stay wrapped up in Jesus! Romans 8:22-23 says, “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.”  Everything is converging and chaos is breaking loose because, yes, it is the Final Countdown. The countdown to Jesus’s arrival! The signs are telling! It is so compelling to see how Bible prophecy is unfolding right before our eyes, and only if you’re in Christ and in the word, will you know and understand the reason for these things.

In the words of my mother, “get a possum grip” on the word, your faith, your salvation. Like the song says, “hold to God’s unchanging hand”. No turning back now! Don’t fear all that’s going on in the world, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, according to 2 Timothy 1:7, but of power, love and a sound mind. Don’t get sidetracked by doubters, unbelievers, and the naysayers, for we know their being used by the enemy. Don’t lose sight of the mission, which is to win souls for Christ, before it’s too late! Don’t lose sight of where we’re headed because we know this earth is not our home, and finally, please keep these words in your heart and spirit…”Don’t Give Up”!

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Which Way?

Life is full of choices and decisions that we have to make, each and every day. Some are big, and some are small. Some come easier than others, when drawing and forming conclusions. However, I have learned, over time, how important it is to include God on the decision making process. You may ask…”why”? Well, let’s just say that God knows, better than we do, what choice will result in having the best outcome. Let’s not forget, He knows all and sees all. He knows the end from the beginning. So we can draw the conclusion, from knowing this much about God, that He will be The Best Person to consult on any matter.

You know, one thing we have to be careful of, is to not get caught up in our own set of smarts or skills, and thinking that we know best how to handle particular things that come our way. Sometimes we can be so sure of “ourselves”, to the point where God has to remind us that He, “Himself”, is orchestrating all of this. Come on let’s admit it, sometimes we just get all in the way! We think we have everything lined out on how this should go and how that should go. Well, my friends, I received a nice little check/conviction, in the wee hours of the morning, by way of Proverbs 16:25 KJV, which goes as follows:

“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death”.

Now, that was the King James Version, but let’s say we take a look at how The Message version puts it, shall we? Brace yourself…let’s read:

“There’s a way that looks harmless enough; look again – it leads straight to hell”.

Ooooooooooooweeee!!! Ya’ll still with me? Well if that ain’t putting it where the rubber meets the road. I mean there it is right there, in our face, how sometimes, in our own eyes, our way of thinking or seeing things may appear to be “ A, OK”, “sound”, “sure”, “reliable”, or even “justifiable”. But, the question is… “Which way does it lead”? Does it put us on a path that leads to life or death? The wonderful thing about God is, He provides the answer, when questioning, “Which Way?”! It’s good to know that we don’t have to have it all figured out, because God holds every answer to every need and every concern. One of the best choices we can make, today, is to get on our knees before God, realizing He is The Way, in knowing which way to turn, which area to focus and which move to make or not to make. He will not steer us in the wrong direction, as long as we remember to seek Him for guidance. Let’s not be so sure in and of ourselves, because we are very apt to getting it wrong and missing the mark. But can we say, “Thank God for the “check””? See, we know we’re making progress when we can thank Him for the correction, right? 

Friends, let God lead you today. Allow Him to nudge and give unction on the necessary actions He would have you to take, because, operating this way, of seeking The Way, makes it much easier in knowing, which way. 
